When I look at the myth around the depiction of Patanjali, who was said to have written the yoga sutras, I wonder why his lower body showed the curled-up tail of a snake. The story about his birth tells of a reincarnation of Adisesa, the snake in the ocean of bliss, onto which Vishnu resides and how he fell from the sky into the hands of his devotional mother as a little tiny snake, who then took the human form of Patanjali, asking her to accept him as her son.
My breathing skin, a "gift" that connects me to the environment, my clothing has to be loosely woven for me not to suffocate my skin, my room that needs to open a window to the world around to keep some fresh air, my house to keep me safely moving out of my room, my garden fencing off the unwelcome strangers, my lane to allow me to walk safely into my city, into my province and into my land : My Freedom became my restriction , my self-made jail, far away from the open environment of the world.
"It takes a lot of courage and trust in yourself to be able to turn your back onto the one who is considered to be your boss".
The rat is the vehicle on which Ganesha rides
Ganesha is the elevated one, the son of Parvati and the adopted son of Shiva,
after He was beheaded and given the head of an old elephant
He now is the remover of all obstacles and lives in the realms of idealism, or heavens, for no human with the head of an elephant is able to comfortably ride a rat here on earth.....
It all started with an asana, discover and uncover your stiff limbs, your fearful mind holding on to what you thought you got.
How does it all got so petrified, like the petrified forest near Eressos....and you keep being involved with this asana, while studying the feelings inside.
Here, after living in Greece for such a long period of my life, suddenly a proud feeling comes over me, for a Dutch team has scored and won... And why? I do ask myself. After all I do not care about sports. And worse: I do not like Holland either and I am happier here in this country that has been scrutenized to bits by the EU and most of the world that is ruled by economics.
We had a great time in the cool British weather, a welcome relief after a long hot time in Eftalou.
At the moment it looks like the wall of Luke and Satya's living room is coming out of my throat,
but I just ate some turmeric roots for health reasons. We had a great workshop in Ashburton and
we thank Satya for organizing this course and hope to come back next year...
I know. There is a fear for visiting official holiday resorts and places in the warmer countries, since there were many attacks on tourists lately. Now that the Greek islands became places where humanitarian aid is practiced on a daily basis, instead of the endless talks within the EU of how to deal with this "problem" based upon economic calculations and keep the refugees out, we see that tourist agencies have cancelled flights! Is this the results of the breaking news? Breaking lives? Breaking holidays?
It is unbelievable to see so many people in Molyvos during the winter and upto now... I know there are fears in Lesvos that during the coming season the usual tourism will not show up and many charter flights has already been cancelled, but look at nature, look at the sea! It is all there, as if nothing has been written about the arrival of people risking their lives looking for a chance to find some peace! All the work that is done to make them feel welcome as they reach the shores of Greece, has been made into a disaster by the attitude of the EU
What more can we do? Besides working into our own deep cellars to clean them out of all our misconceptions about: religion, science, countries and borders...Borders...Separations.....This belongs to this and that belongs to that....and yet all we tried to find is a reason of why we are here in this wonder of creation: the WORLD...still inseparable. There where science meets religion, politics and poetry, diving down into nothing and coming up again: our living mythology: life.
Have a wonderful New Year.
Nature needs to use unnatural ways to stop people, who chose to isolate themselves as far as possible from their own natural being, from their self destruction. Raising money won't do that, for nature knows not what money is. Just the friendly request to leave nature to itself, would be the only solution. We have to get back to what our own nature looks like, without the technical gadgets, without the endless protective layers that we have accepted as our human accomplishments. Some would call that meditation.
