Yellow Springs 2007
Some Pictures and Notes from Patricia
YS 2007
I would like to wish you, the students of the Yellow Springs Workshop with Angela and Victor, a very blessed holiday.
Angela and Victor are still here in Yellow Springs and we are about to sit down to our 'Thanksgiving' feast . I am thinking of all I am grateful for, you all are high up on the list. When I began organizing Angela & Victor's Yoga workshops in 1986 I had no idea what a wondrous path I was embarking on. Each teacher, each student, each workshop have added countless layers of richness to my life.

Thank you for the good, clear energy you brought to the group - it created a magnificent energy field that stimulated and enriched each one of us.

Notes from Angela and Victor
on the 2002 Yellowsprings Workshop
with pictures and participants' comments

Yellow Springs Teacher "UnTraining"

"This is a five day teaching experience we look forward to each year. It came about in response from many students for a teacher training course. While this workshop is called a Teacher "UnTraining" it is by no means limited to only teachers, rather to all levels of practitioners and really to anyone wishing to discover and explore their own inner teacher.

"Our approach to yoga is one of helping to unfold the potential and creative power in individuals, rather than giving them a pre-set form to learn and then reproduce. It is not an easy task since we live and express ourselves in forms. But yoga is an Alive Art and must therefore be constantly re-created. Students need to feel both supported and nourished by the teaching and yet be free to explore what is surfacing for them in the moment.

"The first 2 days of this workshop are a general introduction and experience in our approach to yoga with time for asana, exploration in movement, breath awareness and meditation. The following 3 days give us an opportunity to go more deeply into the work, to answer questions and help individuals in their own process. We direct it more to teaching aspects such as how to deal with specific problems and adjust to the needs of different types of classes, but the major work is about going further into one's own practice and finding the confidence to share one's discoveries with one's students or one's self...thus empowering them in their own process. Each day concludes with time for breath work and or toning sounds and meditation.

"We are amazed each year at the way a warm, loving and supportive atmosphere is built over these 5 days.

Victor/Victoria

"This time Patricia organized a supper/party on the evening before the last teaching day and we were graced with superb piano performances by Elsa from Cuba and Geoff from San Francisco.

"Come join us next November in Yellow Springs!"

Participant's Comments on the 2002 Un-Training

"The workshop was fantastic!!! We plan to make this an annual event. The only way I can describe this workshop is to say that it has completely changed my practice. I enjoy yoga so much more, I enjoy Angela and Victor's teaching as much as their sense of humor. They are revolutionary in their approach. See you next year!!!!" - Dave Remele

"For every teacher there is a student and visa versa. Angela and Victor are a good match for me. I was a self taught yogi until the last several years. Angela and Victor bring back to me what I learned on the mat by myself all of those years ago and they put those inate self discoveries in verbal form. I can relate to their style.
"My experience with A&V helps my own personal practice and I have used their teachings for inspiration in my classes before. Early in my teaching career I introduced a class of beginers to alternate nostril breathing with out using their hands. It started as just a report on what I did at Angela and Victor's workshop, but my class insisted that I teach them. It was a major success! Not only did all of them find the ability to do it, but I learned to trust my students.  They are all capable of exceeding my expectations." Peace, Beth

"Class with Angela and Victor is getting to take the journey that I have always craved with the ultimate guides. They let me linger and explore hidden places, they walk with me to incredible vistas. Best of all, they give me back to myself by their quality of attention. With them I am given a taste of true freedom. There is no turning back towards a yoga practice which idoes not serve this in me. They do this so beautifully with love, simplicity, and clarity. More devoted and deeply integrated teaching I need not seek." - Myrissa

"First of all thank you Patricia for making the workshop possible I fully appreciate all of your loving care! I would like to express to Angela the following...........when I was a little girl I adored the modern dance revolutionary Isadora Duncan. What Isadora was to dance Angela is to yoga.At fourty two I once again have my wonder back!
Victor is truely a artist and visionary I fell in love with is way of seeing the world"
